Louis Pretekin
General Counsel
 Louis
Pretekin has 25 years of legal experience, a record of competence
and of visionary leadership.
Pretekin joined Imperial in 1994. As head of Imperial’s
legal department, Mr. Pretekin handles the legal work associated
with sales, acquisitions and financing transactions of real
property, supervises the preparation and negotiation of all leases
of our substantial portfolio of commercial and industrial
properties, handles or supervises all litigation (excluding matters
covered by liability insurance) and handles our matters of corporate
law.
Prior to joining Imperial, Louis worked in a downtown Chicago
general practice law firm and in solo practice, concentrating in the
fields of real estate and bankruptcy.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Louis received his B.A. in Economics from the
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1979 and his J.D. degree in
1982 from Vanderbilt University School of Law, Nashville, Tennessee.
Mr. Pretekin was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1982 and has been
practicing in Chicago ever since. He is a member of the
Chicago Bar Association.
Louis resides in a northern suburb with his wife and two children
and enjoys bicycling, skiing, reading and, most importantly,
spending quality time with his family. |
